    Field hockey

One of my friends daughters plays jv field hockey so I went to a few games to take some pics . This was my first exposure to field hockey and it was interesting to watch . Not knowing the rules and ref signals keeps me confused about certain calls but still enjoyable watching these girls play . Some of these girls were totally fearless which really impressed me . Some of these pics are jv and some varsity . Chicks with sticks .

    Re: Field hockey

When I lived in N.Va. I got to see a lot of field hockey and lacrosse games. I believe if they introduced those two sports down here, they would take off. You get a chance to be more physical and the games are more exciting to watch.
Lacrosse would be a very good sport in this area. I honestly think if it was not such an expensive sport, there would be more interest. A good stick for a defensive man will run you at least a couple hundred bucks. I believe the sport would be more popular than baseball in the spring especially if the kids find out they could wear pads, helmets, run over people, not to mention hit the players with their stick...legally mind you, using one hand and not a two handed ax swing. JMO.
